I'm not sure about the yellowish, is it plastic? Mine would "haze up" so I had to pull the lamp assembly appart and clean is as much as possible, then used compressed air to blow out all the rest of the dust particles. Last I carefully siliconed everything back up. You have to make sure there's no holes or leaks or it will happen again.

That means you might need a pair bulb soon. ;)

I own a '99 C280 with Xenons and they use glass lenses that have a rubber seal.
I own a '99 C43 with halogens (not Xenons) that also has glass lenses.
So maybe the rubber seal has begun to leak?

I have glass lens on my 97 C280

I suggest you use some Meguiar's PlastX or look for some Headlight Restoration kits.

all 202s have GLASS lenses. The issue with yellowing happens INSIDE the glass, and I would GUESS it's from leaking seals letting crap in. As far as having a crack and them getting dirty, actually...........one of mine got a crack and then rainwater getting in it actually cleared it up :)

You can buy the Bosch lenses on ebay for about $135 apiece. They come with a seal.. They are held on by black clips. I'm not sure what you have to remove, but it may not be a bad idea just to pull the whole headight out, clean up on/around it, and then install the new glass. Mine are rashed-up and cracked at 159k/11 years, so not a bad fix once a decade.
