I replaced the front wheel bearings on the wifes 98 last year. I took it to work today because she said it is making noise. When I did the beaings last year it was because it failed the annual inspection. They weren't noisy back then but I went ahead and replaced them. I didn't replace the races though. Stupid. They are noisy now. Wondering if the hub has to come off to get them out and how do they get removed.
The fronts come out easy, you will need to remove the hub to do so.
cheers,

I did that job last august, as I recall I used a brass hammer and punch to knock out the race. And then I used a bearing disc to bang in the new race - which I put in the freezer for a few hours.
I purchased brass punches and disc from J.C. Whitney.
It was a year since i did it and I may be confused concerning races and seal etc.
I also used a dial indicator for tighness.
