Last week I had trouble with engine coolant temp switch #26 read off the climate control self diagnostics. It turned out the insulation was gone and 2 bare wires were touching simulating a high engine coolant temp.
Today I got a new error code, engine coolant temp switch #25. Not only does the ac compressor clutch not kick in, but the 2 auxiliary electric fans constantly run.
Temp switch #26 was located on the thermostat housing next to the water temp gage sensor and fuel injection coolant temp sensor.
Does anybody know where else a water temp switch is located in this engine? I don't see another temp switch.
I suspect wire insulation has also rotted away from engine heat for this temp switch #25 where ever it is located.
