19" Lorinser LM5 wheels, 225 front tires, 275 rears.
im sorry, I dont even know what kind of springs I have - all I know is they are red.
-no pads (all around)
-26mm front swaybar (W208 chassis I think)
-Polyurathane LCA bushings
-Unknown spring kit
-Front Caster bolt kit
-Stock shocks .. until I can afford Bilstien sport.
-rolled and popped front fenders
-slighty adjusted bumpers
wheels rub slightly in the front, new shocks and a fatt 35mm+ swaybar project will take care of that. no rubbing issues in the rear.
just a bragging post :D
next up, new brakes. front bumper. rear lip. tints.

mines are H&R.....blue........love the rims, i just don't like that style spoiler on sedans:(
Looks good man,
35mm!,how did you come up with that size?...
careful how large you go it could have a negative impact on grip for uneven bends and a harsh ride on uneven straights.
I recently read a 26mm swaybar is around twice as strong as a 22mm,if im not mistaken,the 4 cylinder runs a 26mm front,eibach runs a 28.

and would that be for both the front and rear or just rear...? Are you going to get some derlin bushings to go along with your new sways?
Quote from some sway bar calculator site...
"(new diameter/old diameter) to fourth power
So when you change your bar from 18mm to 19mm, the stiffness increased 24%. (19/18)^4 = 1.24 "
(35/26)^4 = 3.23.........So i guess thats like 223% increase??(help)
Eibach would be (28/26)^4 = 1.31......so 31%.

Steve had custom fronts at 31.xx something like that, and I believe i'll go through the old threads and pull up the company he had make them...
Street and track are slightly different because you dont usually encounter as large a changes in uneven surface between the wheels on a track as you would on the street,he was also running a much heavier front end.

the m104 c280's weight isn't much less than the c43
did he run the 31xx on a C280?
Oh sorry i get it...
but the 4 cylinder must be somewhat lighter in the front compared to the V8??...surely?

31.75mm front & 19mm rear swaybar are the specs for his sway bars

ive got a swaybar in mind, I have yet to measure the exact thickness of the bar itself, but I will when I get the chance.
I am planning to get the H&R 18mm rear sway.
yea, I know that if it gets too stiff it will bump up and fly to the side at a turn and cause poor traction. I also have to fab-up some mounts. ill keep it updated when it goes any further.

eibach is thicker than H&R so if you want to go the noncustom route than its your best bet.

custom route is cheaper for the front sway. ;)
and I may get the eibach rear sway if its thicker then the H&R I havnt looked at their numbers really ..

hey I have a question.
You run "no pads" all around.
What do spring pads do?
How does it affect the ride.
I was planning to go #1 pads all around (but am broke right now) so if I can do no pads lol, I might give it a shot.
Im currently running H&R Springs w/ stock shocks

pads are $6 each from the dealer. if you can't afford new fucking spring pads, you need to reconsider modifiying your car, and look more into your financial situation.
what the hell is wrong with this forum nowadays?

I simply run NO PADS to make the car low and have the front and rear end as matched as possible.
I havnt seen any -cons. to riding with no pads ... BUT, I had to sleep in my car one night (dont ask:rolleyes: ) and throughout the night I kept hearing like a "Pong" sounds comming from the back every couple hours sounded like the springs were settling in and it would echo kinda loud enough to wake me Im not sure if it has something to do with no spring pads or what, car was parked and shut off. kinda funky.
