So I have been getting the my cat is dead code (P0422) coming up a lot more often than I would like. I just kept clearing it and it would come back, so I assume my cat is dead. While this sucks because I have to spend $$$ to get this fixed, it was the perfect excuse for me to just do a complete exhaust system. So I ended up getting the 14833 magnaflow exhaust, 10436 28inch magnaflow resonator, magnaflow Y pipe, and one metal cat Catalytic Converter 200604. All of which is 2.5 inches except the muff which was only 2.25 boo to that. I also picked up a mandrel bend pipe, I believe they call it a J bend, it was a U bend with some straight pipe in it, hence J shape. I figure I will need more pipeing but I'll just get it at the exhaust shop that does the install. I do however need a good exhaust shop in the OC that will be down to remove my two dead cats and put one high-flowing cat in its place. The metal cat is carb approved and cali approved, well at least thats what the company emailed me back saying. I am going to pick up some high-heat black paint and paint the muffler so you can't see the silver portion of the body of the muffler, I got the idea from here (http://mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=119673&highlight=bbq+paint) pics coming soon.

well I had it all installed yesterday and it looks good, sounded a bit loud but I will get use to it. I was just rear ended just my luck after installing the brake stuff, tranny flush, and having the exhaust work done... tomorrow I have to limp it to a body shop to get fixed, some fucking ricer in a jetta slams into my rear on the 57s a few hours ago.... FUCK

Well I had tws do my exhaust but they outsource it to another shop who didn't use my y pipe or pipeing (if anyone wants to buy them on the cheap) they had to make a bunge for the o2 sensors. Then the next day I got rear ended by a ricer in a jetta who played fast and the furious on the back of my car. Even with the 22inch res it was loud, much louder than I thought it was. Maybe its due to having one cat but it sort of felt faster. One thing I did notice is that my car would stay at speed longer once I let go of the gas and just coasted. I was just starting to get use to the sound when it all got fucked up. I asked them to use manderal bending, but when I looked at it afterwards it looked like a crush bend to me... oh well. It has to be redone again anyway since the exhaust is now hanging from the brackets. Its been such a fucking mess for me, at least its all at the body shop and will hopefully be back in my hands in a month. More to come soon

i got hooked up for parts at performance peddler everything including the y and piping they did not use cost me around 340 and the install was 195. I also spent 6 bucks on that black high heat bbq paint to make it look more stockish, i think it made it look like it was meant to be there rather than an aftermarket upgrade. Cheers.
