What are these buttons?

This is dumb question. What these buttons on the console of a '97 C280
1. a Small tiny button with a slider having a man on one side and a dot on the other.It's right below the driver power window switch. The button pops out of console, and I think it's not working. Any ideas where I can get one or if I even need one?
2. On the Climate control there is a REST buttons that only comes on if you press it when the car is off. It shows 72 degrees F and "auto" when the button is pressed.

1. Child safety switch

2. Rest button is used to warm up the
car's interior to 72 deg using the engine's temp. without having to run
the car's engine. - This is especially helpful during cold winter months while sitting in the car waiting or hanging out.
