I have a '00 C230k and have been having problems with the A/C for the past week. I turned on the A/C while driving and heard a knocking sound from the vents and saw that the EC button was blinking. I soon noticed that the air, while cold, was coming out at the same speed for each level (0-5). Since then the air pressure has been the same (around a level 3) for any level I choose.
Can anyone guess what the problem is?
I'd appreciate your thoughts.

you probly need a blower motor resistor

Blinking EC button means the compresser shut down due to it sensing it is low on R134a and thus trying to avoid damaging the compresser. Knocking from the compressor is not good. I hope the damage hasn't already been done.
