I did a search to see if they would come up as this is a fairly common thing, but found nothing. Dunno why, but oh well.

Anyway. Just cleaning out all my old paperwork & just so I do not have this laying around I figured I would post it, so I can toss the paper.

This is for the 2000 W/ BOSE system to a Sony HU(HU doesnt really matter, but thought I would throw that in). I know the pre(97?) is different.
Numers from Crutchfield.com...
120701784 Volkswagen Wire reciever harness. 1987- up $12.99
12040VW12 Motorola/Male to Volk/Female Antenna Adapter $4.99

most mercedes use the volkswagon and antenna adapters but when you use them you have to change the red and yellow wires which are the constant and accessory wire since they are different on the mercedes, so when you install them hook the red wire from the harness to the yellow on the deck harness and the yellow to the red on the harness. if not you will know the deck doesnt hold memory since the wires are switched ;)

I didnt add that because on my setup, I didnt need to do that. I am not sure if that is a statesise thing because of the SOS( I know some cars use the car antenna for location) so in some way it is hooked up to teh radio. But here they do not have teh homelink, sos, whateveritscalled.
So the best way it to hook it up & if you loose memory, just switch the wires.

BTW< sory for my typing. I had to have 4 holed drilled into my right index finger today.

i was just replying if you ever replace your radio with a after market using a aftermarket adapter you have to change the wires if using a volkwagon harness like from METRA.... if the radio is designed for a mercedes and the harness is direct plug in you may not have to do that....:D
