Yet something else I am fixing on the car right now. Finally getting around to the front bumper that the motorcylcist ripped off when he ran the redlight.
So far I have a total of $10 into the fix. $5 for the lite weight filler & $5 for sandpaper cleaner, ect..
I did this because my son wanted to help me fix it so I figured what the hell, why not.

Gotta love it, but it came out pretty damn good so far. I am just going to prime & spray for right now. Next month I should be getting ready to sand, glaze coat(no rust just a couple small dents) & poly flex(for the bumpers). Then i'm painting it matte black. Refinishing the Mono's w/ the polished lip & matte black centers.

More photos tomorrow....
(taken when it first happened MONTHS ago)..

That Actually Looks Pretty Good. Great Job. How Much Did You Save? And The Bumper In The Shower Is Funny.

Thank You.

Well, Benz wanted almost $3000 just for the bumper. Then another $1000 or so just for paint & such.

A local body shop said. Just for the repair. Which only included...what was LESS than what I did. For a heat gun treatment, small coat of filler & spray, they wanted $290. This DID NOT include removal of the bumper..so NO reinforcement behind the bumper would have been done.

What I did ALSO included PLASTIC WELD, on the side of the bumper where it slides into the "locking" bracket.
So I fixed the ENTIRE bumper for less then $20.
Break down of parts...

1 Can of grayish/blue primer $1
1 Can of Duplicolor Brilliant Silver(BSP202??) $1
1 Qt of Evercoat lite weight filler $5
6 sheets Misc sandpaper $6
1 Sheetrock repair patch(I think was $1.50( I got it from HD when I lived in the states)
Misc degreaser & water from shower + cleanup was about....I dunno $2
Total time to do the repair...Less then 2 days, including install of bumper
