the techs at work were looking at my setup that I have in progress under the hood, question was how to win a little extra fuel.

a suggestion was to disconnect and plug the vacuum line that went to the FPR (fuel pressure regulater) what that does is raise the pressure about half a bar (~7.36pounds)

and so ive done this, and maybe its just me but i did notice a little in acceleration. maybe im full of it, or maybe it actually improved a little, but you decide if you want to attemp this and post up if you noticed something. agian, very easy to do - disconnect the vacuum line going to the FPR, and plug it so its no sucking in air.

I have a C230 97' btw.

I would reconnect it. You shouldn't mess with FPR b/c over time the ECU will overadapt and run even leaner than before. My E30 racecar had this done and over time the car ran like crap. reinstalled stock FRP and reconnected vac line and now its MUCH better after. MB did that for a reason and the ECU is tuned assuming the vacuum like is attached. yes it will raise .5 bar w/ the vacuum not attached but don't do it, not a good idea

i agree these cars really adapt to how they are running. When i installed my CAI it sounded/ performed alot different than it does now.

what have you noticed that is different on your CAI ? do you mean the car adapted and it doesnt run better or doesnt preform better...i just had mine done and was wondering if i m in for a change too ?

how so?

well, the offset of the pulley was slightly off ... if I directly bolt it on - it crushes the crank seal and is too close to the engine so the accesorie belt doesnt line up.

Ive got a spacer type thing machined and a new crank seal installed along with a strech bolt, now the accesorie belt lines up fine, but the supercharger belt is 1/4 off so the belt screeches in cold weather. next plan is to remove the supercharger - bore the mount holes so I can move it out slightly so it lines up better. But, all this trouble .... I sure got what I paid for. :o

I better hope that it performs well. it doesnt shake or vibrate at all, and imagine a Supercharger pulley that weighs 1/4less then my OEM N/a pulley did. im also searching for a Komp. long block.

what have you done for additional fuel remo? now with the added supercharger

What about using a rising rate FMU that reads off of boost. A crimp in the retrrn line in other words. Vortech makes a nice adjustable one.

...what have you done to require more fuel?

nothing. supercharger is bolted on, BUT its only free-spinning. not engaged. I need alot more homework to do ... Besides I got another good setback (check my latest post in the boba lounge) :p
