Looking to do a custom hvac and shifter trim piece since my wood is cracking all over. I'm interested in those plastic sheets stereo shops use for deck trims... what are they called? and where can i get them from online?
I'd rather ask first than go to a stereo shop because i dont have time during the day hours.

i have a ton laying around too if you want them

i wouldn't really recommend going this route though- use the stock pieces and refinish them.

I'm in the process right now of modifying my stock pieces- going 9.2" widescreen in-dash and keeping it wood

cool.
i didnt like the wood, refinishing them with the cracks wouldn't work. i already tried with a little bondo and sanding. have also tried avery vinyl stickers too... might as well go this route.
what color sheets do you have and what do you want for those sheets? thanks

it would be easier for me to give you a link where you can buy them yourself

Those panels would be very difficult to make. They are actually metal and have many little provisions, tabs, and mounting spots that would be hard to retrofit. They also have some round spots that would be hard to make out of straight plastic stock.

Go to the picture section and check out my trim pieces. I ended up removing them all, sanding down to smooth, too much and you'll actually sand down to wood. It's wood over metal, with a clear. I then brought them to the shop and had a "hammered mettalic finish" sprayed to match the exterior silver. Cost me $40 to spray and a few hours of work.
