What is the normal type a noise a kompressor should be making when in boost: 1) a wind type whine, sort of like a turbo when spooling-think vw/audi turbos, or 2) a metallic like noise-almost like fan blades that are hitting something, or 3) neither and sounds like something else?

1) No
2) Your description sounds a bit harsh. If accurate, there sounds like a problem but are you sure that the noise is coming from the kompressor and not something else with the engine?
3) >>neither and sounds like something else?<< It sounds more like a roar to my ears. This is especially true when the car has been started from cold and the kompressor is on full-time during the warm up cycle. As others have said, your car will sound a lot like a tractor during this time period.

What I always wondered...Is that clicking noise at idle just as you gas coming from the supercharger? It sounds like the compressor for the air conditioner when its on.. I always wondered if that sound is normal..

Bad lifters lol youre dumb.

The clicking I have aswell...just as the car starts rolling off it clicks and engages the clutch of the supercharger I beleive.

It's lifter tick, and it comes from most of these type of VVT engines from this era. As long as it stops once the car is warmed up, theres not a problem. It could also be piston slap. Whatever the problem is, my car seems to be fairly immune to degree.

if you here the tick at 2k rpms......thats the supercharger

but if you hear a constant tick its the lifters

I know what the lifters sound like and its not the lifters. The ticking noise starts at 2,000 rpm through 5,000 rpm. Its only after the kompressor engages, first tick is normal but it continues to tick throughout the whole rpm range. Im going to have to drive a different car to see if thats normal. Hopefully its not the kompressor going out, although at this point I will suspect it is. Car has power but its very, very noisy.
