well im a little past due for the 90k service, im at 93104...but anyways i had been getting quotes from all over my town from ppl that work on MB and bmw...one place wanted 750 and that included, coolant flush, brake flush, transmission service, liquid and labor...and i was like WOW!...so off to the next place...and i found a bavarian shop with a good rep that would do all of that for 400$..inc parts labor etc...is that a good deal from your guy's past experience?...i know the 90k service calls for other stuff like plugs, rotors, pads, cabin and air filters, which is all stuff ive changed out recently...so i dont need that...what do you guys think? thanks...

lmao dude thats all stuff you can do you self, im not tech and i've done everything myself.....but theres tons of how to's on here, from coolent flushes to how to change rotors and pads. Buy the tools.......its be worth it in the end because you'll know your 202 inside out...get a service book....or get all data diy. if you have a C230 kompressor.......you have to get tranny fuild, filter, dipstick, lockpin and gasket from the dealer (don't forget to drain the torque converter!!!), you don't really have to change your spark plug wires, with a oil change you might need a tool from the dealer to take the filter out. If you can't find anything you can always ask

400 dollars anit bad if you dont wanna do it yourself..i would ask about and type of warrenty on there work and any parts they use, are the using oem replacement parts? as far as oil changes i thought it had to be sucked out, is there a drain plug?

If all you're gonna have done is a coolant flush, brake fluid
change and tranny fluid change I'd say $400 is too much.
I've never paid more than a hundred bucks each for those
three services. Keep calling around and get quotes for each
individual job. And don't just call import/MB specialists. Those
things are so simple any indy shop can do them.

yea i suppose your right on them being easy, but i dont have a lift let alone a garage to do the tranny flush..and really dont want it up on a jack...and plus i'd rather not even mess with it in that "just in case i break something situation"...so, so far ive heard that ..do it yourself, not to bad for price and too expensive for price...what else is there that i need to do at the 90 or just in general?

honestly, i've done everything on my driveway at times from oil changes, to rear difff's......a lift just makes things easy....setup on jacks stands is half the fun lol...........ok well look

Cabin Filter
Air Filter
drop in some BG 44k <---this stuff works well
and some sea foam in your bmc

is the easiest thing you can do with just a screw driver

replacing you belts (don't want them breaking on you)

depending on you oil cap, and tools you own
oil change is really simple.

Trans fuild & filter change is a lil bit harder....but you can still just get away with just a flush with out changing the filter. but you'll have to get a specail dipstick, and as soon as your done, which is very important is hold your brake drop it in drive and then reverse a few times back to back....

cheak you shifter bushings might need a new set

cheak your flex disc (I'VE SEEEN THE AFTERMATH OF 1 GOING BAD.........YOU'LL WANT TO SELL YOUR CAR)

rear diff is just a simple

coolent..........very easy don't really need alot of tools for that 1

plugs........the wires should still be good!!

nooooooooooow brake fluid.....pain in the a$$

brake pads and rotors.........pain in the a$$

haha thats major shit

All these "90K service", "100k sevice", etc., are just fancy
ways of saying: follow the recommended maintenance schedule for your car whether its got 10K miles or 200K! To repeat:
pick up the phone book and call at least a dozen
indy mechanics in your area for quotes. I've had my coolant flushed for
$40, my brake fluid changed for $50, diff fuid changed for $20,
tranny fluid changed for $75. (BTW, check the coupon section
of your phonebook. They usually have a slew of auto repair
discount coupons)
