Changing wheel size

If I go from the stock 15" wheel to a 16" or 17" wheel, will that make my speedometer and odometer inaccurate?

You would just have to get a lower profile tire to compensate for the bigger rim.


i.e. lets say you are running 205/60/15 stock

If you want to go with a 17" rim, you could run 215/45/17's and your speedo would read 0.3% too fast, or if you went with 225/45/17 your speedo would be running 1.2% too slow - which isn't too far off. If you were going 60 mph your speedo would read 60.7 mph.
