preupdate bumpers on update not working

hey guys,

well i got my brabus bumpers back from the shop, they are brabus pieces attached to pre update cores. my car is an update and the rear / front bumpers are not going on properly.

with the rear bumper it slides on well and the bolts line up but the top of the bumper near the wheel needs to be pushed up and under and it clips in, but when you do this there is a bulge where the sliding bracket is, i'm guessing I need to buy pre update brackets and put them on the update car? because it seems to have a huge bulge and doesn't look normal.

and with the front bumper, the wheel well covering that goes underneath the front sides of the car fouls the front bumper when you slide it on, should i just rip them out and not put them back on or buy preupdate versions? only problem is that there is wiring under there for the fog hids / ballast don't know how much water will be getting in :o ?

it's weird I thought they were all interchangeable :confused:

ive converted my pre-update to an update.

I replaced the rear brackets (plastic) and that was all done for the rear.

side skirts I ordered new clips all around and it was direct fitment no troubles.

front bumper, it uses differnt plastic brackets like the rear and also i bought a set of updated fender liners since mine were missing. its a very good idea to keep your fender liners/any other chassis cover pieces!

Alright so your update bumper brackets wouldn't work with the pre update brackets on your car?

I don't know what I should do about the fender liners because I will be ordering springs soon that should get me pretty slammed and I might even have to take them out for clearance issues..?

Do you still have the pre update brackets Remo for front and back? If you could grab the part numbers off them that would be sweet. Along with the pre update fender liners if you could!

lol thanks oz, yeah detali is useful but I prefer to get the numbers from the part if I can then if not I go for that.

well, the fender liner pieces were lost thats the whole reason I decided to buy post-update ones.

the brackets were disposed of. =/ figured if I wasnt going back to pre-update may as well toss them out, besides im moving out soon cant collect all these useless parts anyway.

hey remo, the front bracket part numbers are exactly the same as the pre update part numbers, did you buy new front ones? because the part numbers I have here are the same for both.

the rear brackets are different though so I ordered 2 of them 2028850163 002 Guide on rear end floor, lateral left and right.

And what guard moulding / cowling did you have to change? the parts department could only find one cowling for the front so maybe they are the same for both pre update / update. did you have to buy new rear guard moulding?

for the front brackets they were very similar but I ended up replacing ones that were a little differnt anyway.

the front mud gaurds are the parts that are in the very front lower part of the car, one covers my cold air intake and one on the other side. everything else works fine.
