Has anyone used the new MB tranny fluid for their change? Its a few bucks cheaper per liter than the old fluid and its supposed to have improved properties.

Let me revise my question. Has anyone used it and is experiencing performance issues?

No I haven't tried the new MB stuff.

But I have recently drained the old Merc fluid out of my C36 722.328 auto and replaced it with fully synthetic Castrol Transmax Z.

I can certainly feel the difference with quicker smoother changes!

There are a number of really excellent auto fluid options. If you are in doubt as to what you should use, then it maybe advisable to stick with the latest MB recommendations.

The opening post on 'PHOTO DIY- 722.6X TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGE'
http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210-e-class/1334827-photo-diy-722-6x-transmission-fluid-change.html
states:

I had a long discussion with one of the engineers at MotherShip Montvale, who confirmed that the use of the "New" fluid- A.001.989.45.03.10 (which is also only 1/2 the cost of the "old" fluid A.001.989.21.03.10) IS ALLOWED!!
