Help.. Problem when starting the car.

hello all..

help please..
I'm having trouble starting the car, this happen just recently. it's a 97 c200 auto trans. heres the problem
when I turn the ignition key the car just would not start.
then after few try, i found out a way by putting the auto shift to Neutral then turn ignition key and walla it START. Hmmm...
it ignores me since i have to do this every time i start the car.

any clue guys.. ?? HELP please...

Sounds like the neutral safety switch...

i would say its the neutral safty switch to, if the switch isnt engaged when in park , the car wont do anything.
