Gear shift lighting

How do you replace the light bulb for the gear shift? This would be on the 94 C280.

Yeah, the light under the P R N 4 3 2 1 . I don't know if there is one there or not. It has'nt worked since we've had the car. I was replacing light bulbs, int and ext and thought there should be one in the gear selector.

im pretty positive i have gear selector lights on my 1994 c280, not near it right now so i cant check though.

94 c220 does.
take out the pocket in front of the gear shift. pops up.
then you can reach your hand in there.
the bulb is in a little holder toward the upper left on the outside.
you don't have to get into the shifter at all.
pretty simple. you shouldn't have any trouble.
