could you come across like a bigger %^%& with the "as you know i took it to another level crap"

my w202 is stock bodied etc., so don't attack my car as that won't prove anything- but what makes you think you're the first to modify a car?

Your attitude is enough to make me not want to express interest even if i were in the market for a non-stock shaped hood (i'm not, as i really don't want to lose any more of my sleeper status than is necessary)

Jstrat, that hood would look SICK in CF.

i would be interested in the hood, but would be happy with a fiberglass hood for the cost. i'm not so big on the carbon look for that big of a body panel, so even if it were carbon, i would probably paint it anyway.

1. NO PINS

2. Perfect Stock Fitment

3. Real CF

4. 15lbs or lighter

5. LOUVERED HOOD VENT!!!

I will be so in for that... I would also be down for a cf version of the updated euro trunk lid...

I love the OEM modified hood but I cant imagine a CF or FG replica being made and perfectly smooth ... thats one of my worries!

it would have to be a perfect stock fitment, real carbon fiber, needs to be light! and i would think a fair price would be about $800 to $1,000. i need to call him up and to talk about pricing and everything else. oh yea and no pin! i dont like that look at all!

I'm interested. Like other members, I also have their concerns. Actually, I don't care about CF. All I care about is weight and durability. Furthermore, if there are vents on the hood, it would be great. I would like to take off some heat from my C36.

how about an FG option as well then ? I may not want that much cf (even though its paintable) ... that price you named seems cool 800+shipping ?

LOUVERED!!!

If we are going cf and custom it needs vents...

I am in for $800 hopefully we can get a lot of people in for the buy so we can lower the price. Also make sure the bottom side has been coated with a good quality high temp coating i.e. the mbworld guy who did it to that. Cheers.

i dont like to work with fiber glass so if this does go on it would only be in carbon fiber. this is the site that makes all these parts. they do a great job when it comes to carbon fiber!!!

other concern is the underneath of the hood , will it have some kind on skeleton type reinforcement like the vis? steel hood latch ? and will it require to take the shocks off the hood latches to prevent breaking of the hood? also i have seen these vis hoods as low as 620.00 . so if the price is around that if not better or if we can get alot of buyers to lower the over all price i might be interested. will the carbonfiber be stage 3 quality?

FRP is fiberglass btw. fiber reinforced plastic, with carbon fiber overlay.

i'm really not trying to start some sort of a row or anything, i'm just curious what's not to like about fiberglass?

the reason i dont like fiber glass is when a rock falls on the bumper ,hood etc.. the paint cracks! another reason is if you dont do a good job on laying the fiber down it looks like shit!

both of those things are true of cf as well though...

My cf hood on my WRX has some stress cracks and it's from a very good manufacturer and had perfect fit/finish when new.

My handmade (by me) fiberglass body kit (molded to body everywhere) on the explorer has no cracks.

either one just comes down to the quality

I am definitely interested, as long as its stock fitment, no hood pins, takes stock hood hinges and latches, real cf.. and as people have mentioned.. the vents in the hood would be pretty sweet.
