I was curious, as to how many people installed an aftermarket keyless entry system in their 1995 C280?
I believe mines doesn't have keyless entry, because I was only given a key, nor do I see any additional lights or alarm buttons etc...
So I was wondering if anyone has installed one themselves? Since I know the MB dealer will charge quite a lot here.
I've done some wiring with the C280 already eg. Subwoofers/amps etc.. So I'm not "totally" lost, but it would be good to get some tips/advice from someone, who's done this already.
Thanks.
Harry.

since your car works on a vacuum type system and if you know about hooking up relays then installing a keyless entry would be simple. you don't necessarly have to go to mercedes for this as most 12 volt after market places can install it into your car. i would suggest after market and a good brand . shoot if your going that way you might as well to a security also. damn if your that far into it get a remote start LOL . any ways aftermarket keyless type systems give you better range and more options and seen to be more affordable. for instance the place i work at sell the Valet kelyless entry which is made by Directed Electronics. it will give you lock/unlock light flash and even a horn honk. it also gives a accessory out to add like trunk pop . basic install with the keyless system runs about 100 bucks.any additionals like trunk pop etc is extra. but since the car you have might have this vacuum system it may run a little more. i believe the model number is the valet 712t . come with 2 remotes and even a l.e.d. i just googled the model number and brought this site up it gives you some info on the system it self

Check this link.. The guy did the installation on a w124 but it should be the same for w202 as well..

If you do end up doing it yourself it would be helpful if you take pics and post it up for others.

I did my '94 C280's alarm system. I have a Clifford RSX 3.5 w/ paging, Remote start, window roll up/down. It was pretty straight forward. Haven't had any problems with it, but I've broken two remotes :-/
Not sure why Logic thinks it would cost more to do vacuum locks. Essentially the same thing as regular door locks. I just tapped into the factory powerlock circuit.
Check this website here to see the wiring diagram:
http://64.85.6.121/diagrams/diagram.asp?ModelID=19124&MakeID=30&link=BULLDOG
Things to note... When using the factory power lock circuit from the door (key activated switch), the starter kill is engaged, so you won't be able to have any Auto-Lock when the ignition key is turned on.
The door pin switches need to be isolated with diodes. The alarms typically only have one door input switch that takes inputs from all 4 doors.
I believe these are noted on the wiring diagram website as well.

i was just stating depending on the place some will charge more labor since its not a basic ground or positive trigger . since you caught the door sensor it engages the factory starter kill (if equipped with a factory sercurity) . doing the relay set up on the vacuum under the seat prevents that and allows for ign lock and unlock.;)
