This year I said to myself the 202, WILL get Monoblock AMG rims. Nothing looks better.

I have a BONE stock suspension 99C230K. Im a big fan of the 18" Monoblock rim with the polished looking lip going around and also, non-staggered. If I can find the same in 17" non staggered I would like those aswell.

Some questions though, will there be any issues with 17" or 18" going on the car such as rubbing? Do 18" make a considerable more amount of stiffness/harshness than 17" in terms of ride quality?

Im against using spacers and want the wheels to easily swap in the winter with the stock 15"s.

Thanks guys :) Im such a NOOB

Not sure about your car. But on mine I have 225/45ZR17sFront & 255/40ZR17's w/ AMG suspension(sits low from factory)
The regular staggered AMG wheels... 7.5 front & 8.5 Rear. No rubbing issues at all.
I was told & read(told after I read & asked) that AMG rolls the rear fenders. I noticed that my fenders DO NOT have a lip & are rolled. But regardless a 225 tire all the way around should be absolutely no problem.

rubbing issues.. with a 225 tire on the 18's.. i see no issue of rubbing.. and if you're against spacers.. then the rear wheels will sit in a lil. id say go staggered.. I know you cant rotate them front to back or anything.. but the look is much nicer. how come youre against spacers.. i have had no issues with them (used them on my first set of 19's, used 15mm spacers on the rear) only because the wheels were non staggered. ever since then ive gone staggered, just a nicer look with the fat lips on staggered wheels.. and the fact i can run a wide tire on the rear.

and the difference between a 17" and an 18" wheel ride and comfort wise is very minimal.. they are pretty much the same feel.. I think anything 17" and up is starting to get "rougher".. with 19's and 20's being absolutely harsh in comparison to a 17" or 18" wheel!
but the 17-18" wheel will definitely give you a better feel in cornering.. and slightly harsher ride with the thiner side wall.

I have 18" AMG W210 E55 monoblocks in the summer, but I was running a 245/40/18 tire up front and a 285/35/18 tire out back.. car slammed hard, front fenders rolled and pulled hard.. rear fenders rolled and pulled like crazy too!! with a stock suspension and 225/40/18 and a 255/35/18 tire you would have no worries and no rubbing.

Thanks Ross!

I dont want to use spacers, simply because want my wheels to be on the original hubs like the stock rim.

Those C43 rear bumpers look tempting aswell:)

Woops. I see you live in Toronto.

BTW, no affiliation with the seller. Just thought the price and description looked good, so thought I would pass it along in case someone in the area was interested.

why would you want non staggered mono's??? and why so against spacers they just make them flush with the fenders. you said you want to easily swap your winter rims when its time but spacers just simply slide on and off when you take the wheel off.

I see.. well there are spacers that bolt to the hub.. making them just as strong as the hub itself. but if you dont want spacers then so be it!

yeh the 43 bumpers are nice!I have the rear one.. I wanted to get the front as well.. have a brabus one thats eventually going on so didnt want to spend the money on the 43 front.

I dunno what looks sweeter: A wide ass rear wheel with a stretched tire, or a wide ass rear wheel with a wide ass tire, lol

I am also looking to upgrade my rims this spring to 18" Monoblock Aero II's. I currently have the stock 17" AMG Mono's on my C36, but want something bigger. Looking at Front 18 x 8 ET 31 and Rear 18 x 9 ET 35 this will fit, Right?? On average how much $$ are Authentic AMG 18" Mono's going for?

I have found quite a few sets in the US, the only issue is shipping them to Toronto, which is going to cost me an arm and a leg! I would prefer to find a set locally if possible, but will most likely buy state side.

I have a dhl account- i can ship wheels around the states for very cheap. I'm sure it wouldn't be THAT bad.

I do, however, they were taken by the previous owner and I have to find them. I bought the car at the end of fall did some work on it and now it is stored for the winter (Not ideal for driving in our crazy Canadian winters). Waiting for the Spring to take some nice new pics and post them. I will try to find the old pics and post them if I can.

Let me know how much shipping will be with your DHL account discount. Also, were your Custom two tone 18's painted or powder coated and are there any flaws on the rims?

Did you find out the sizes and offsets for the rims? Did you need to use spacers for them?

still haven't taken them off the car- it's sitting in my storage unit and i've been sick and working on my subaru (it got a new turbo)

I will try to make it a priority

i have no spacers on my extremely lowered c43 and good fitment

Hey guys,

Heres an example of silver one on 18 monos and a drop. It looks very clean and honestly of all the wheels I've seen I think these look the best. I used to be all over the Mono6s but it just doesn't go as well with the w202 chassis as the old Aero 2s.

Also, Lakeshore wheel & tire sells perfect monoblock replicas WITH AMG logos engraved for $800ish for the set. The Ebay ones are not perfect replicas and they don't look as nice and they also don't have AMG engraved.

yeah, very few if any wheels do look better than the mono IIs on our cars.

Only reason i'm going otherwise is to be different/show my brakes
