Hi guys! HAPPY NEW YEAR! NEW RIMS!!! UPS Ground just delivered yesterday my brand new 19 inch staggered S-Sevas rims. they have silver centers with chrome lips. Now I just need to slap some Falken 452s and lower the car. Any suggestions on lowering springs?

DAMN I AM IN LOVE WITH THE MIRROR LIPS. Rims size is actually 19x 8.5 front and 19x 9.5 rears.

Congrats man! What size 452s are you running? I hope no larger than 225s and 245s...

hey there Brandon! FInally man! I have been waiting for these rims. I will definitely go fro 225/35/19 in the front but I wanted 255/30/19 on the rear but apparently Falken 452s don't come in those sizes. Only in 245/35/19 or 265/30/19.

Do you suggsest I go for the 245s or 265s? Will 245s still look squared off and wide with these rims when looked at from the back.?

Do you have pictures of your rear wheels showing how wide they are? and also from the side to show the sidewall too?

HAppy new year!

You have to run 245s, in fact, I would run 235s in the 452 that way you don't have issues.

so 225/35/19 in front and 245/35/19 in the rears? I know that is your specs and they damn look sweet...

What issues will i encounter if i do opt for the 265/30/19 in the rear?

Once I get the tires on the rims and installed I will definitely lower the 202. Eibachs? or H&Rs?

265 will NOT! work with a FALKEN FK452! Let me make that perfectly clear! These tires run wider than normal.

For the record, my FK452 245 is wider than my Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 255 was...

That was my Dunlop

aahh I see.. :D sorry my bad, my previous tyre was the 451 and 265/30 and still ok, it just not stretch enough.:)
didn't know that 452 would be so different, :suprise: Hvn't use it myself tho.

The 452 is very different than the 451. The 452 is much, much wider, and has a very squared sidewall, whereas the 451 has a very rounded sidewall.

i've been really happy with the 245/30/19 we have on the W208. like ocklasse said, the 452s have a very wide sidewall, and the fitment makes them feel wider than a 245.

however, i liked the sidewall stiffness, and lip protection the dunlop has to offer. its just a matter of personal preference, but i know for a fact the dunlop SP sport maxx tires will work perfectly for this application in the size that works best

Hello guys,

I am about to buy the tires now. I am down to 2 brands.

Toyo T1Rs 19/225/35 front and 19/255/30 rear

OR

Falken 452s 19/225/35 front and 19/245/35 rear

Please comment on the best tire wear and grip on both dry and wet conditions.

i would go with what you feel you like as far as looks fitment etc etc. if it was up to me i would do some research on the tires to see what tire features more of what your looking for , like wear, sound etc

it depend on your budget. I'll go with Falken 452. ;)

what about 265/35/18 w/ rolled fenders, will that fit on a C36 AMG ?

I'd really love to run 265/35s out back and if I have to roll fenders thats fine, I've done it many times before with the professional tirerack tool, it makes rolling fenders a piece of cake, no cheap baseball bats or etc. Heat gun comes in handy to.

can 265/35/18 fit with a C36 with rolled fenders and mild drop? (i was thinking vogtlands & #4 pads all around).

BTW, wheels look amazing. Im VERY curious to see how they turn out.

I don't see any problem with that set up.
I won't recommend Vogtland coz they're
too soft. ;)

I had H&R sport / bilstein sport on my E36 M3 and it handled like it was on rails. I know its the best setup hands down but honestly it was very stiff and I am looking for something softer on this car so I was thinking something with a progressive rate spring like eibach or vogtland. I already have new Bilstein HDs from previous owner which are better than stock but still softer than Bilstein sports so that should be good enough for shocks.

Get the Toyo T1R, better looking (rounded sidewall) & it handles well.

maybe, but nothing grips like kuhmo MX in the dry, it really is in a whole 'nother catagory (just like tirerack put them in).

FINALLY I GOT THEM ON!!!

ToyoT1Rs 225/35/19 in the Front and ToyoT1Rs 255/30/19 rear. I need to put tire shine on it to show its beauty some more! I love how they grip on the road though. But I got to watch those potholes now.

Any comments? Do I really need to lower it still?

THEN...

looks nice, if you have high enough spring pads stock (like #4 or #5) you can probably just drop your car using #1 pads alone. Its very close to a perfect stance. you don't want to go too low b/c they will probably rub w/ 19s.

Omeyhomey,

you mean I can lower without getting Eibach or H&Rs?how do I do that with the pads? I am not familiar with pads...

where to buy it and how it works to lower the car. You are right I do not want to lower it too much and would like to get as close as possible to stock ride comfort

Finally u use toyo T1R :D there are the best. love them.

pads can be bought at Merc dealer.
Use Eibach on #1 pads, drop just nice.
or even lower stance with the Eibach Sport Line on #1pads. tyre will be tuck in to the fender. :D

got more cash :D get some Airsus http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj96/xirush555/runcoold.gif?t=1202895088

I am saying you may not even need springs honestly. Check to see what our springs pads are. do a search, its a numered system #1-#5, If your pads are high enough (say #4 or #5 stock). You can drop your car .5 inch just by going to a #1. that will keep stock ride quality and lower the car with no sacrifice. The pads are cheap and can be found at dealer.

what are the pads for anyways? My car seems to be lower at the rear so I plan to just lower the front a bit to close the wheelwell gap

Can I do this by putting #1 pads in front and leaving rear stock?

Proven Guilty

the rear always looks lower due to the difference in wheel arches. the front is larger, and clears the tire, otherwise you'd have rubbing issues at stock height, or fender damage if lowered when turning.

if you're running a sound system in the trunk made of MDF board, you could run #1 pads in the front and #3s to balance it out. otherwise id just run #1 or #2 all around.
