has anyone tried putting different size rims on their car?

e.g. 18x8j on the front and 19x9.5j rear.

would there be any problems with the drive of the car? handling?

just curious as im sure ive seen it done in a max power car with above measurements.

i guess it would allow the front to be dipped while having more grip on the rear. making the car look more aggresive.

pro's and con's?

much appreciated.

im inclined to purcahse these wheels

I wouldn't do it. Stick to one size.

it changes the physics of the car's balance and stance. it'll also change the acuracy of speedo, and the slip and grip angles when cornering. it's bad all around unless the car was deisgned for it (ie: corvettes)

more importantly if u have bas/esp it will mess that up, and slightly less importantly ur cruise control wont work anymore

it's not as big of an issue as people are making it-

the only problem is that on a w202 it will look awful- it's hard to get the front as low as the rear and you'll end up with tiny looking front wheels.

i was thinking of going with a 60mm drop at front and 40mm at back?

ive posted subject on other forums and there has been a wide range of views. with some people saying drastic while others saying minor understeer etc.

has anyone got an actual backup i.e. tests or anything?

it'll just be easier having 18's on front also because of steering etc whereas 19's on back dont have to steer and are for grip and rolling purposes.

btw im from birmingham, ive got two white 202's and my friend has another one. not many more around here either, people are too busy with their lives lol.

Merecedes uses speed sensing from the front and rear wheels for numerous tasks including electronic stability ETS, braking ABS, ASR and also for engine control. Different sized wheels might cause a problem with different revolutions per mile front vs rear?

Have a look at the link below for authorised wheel/tyre sizes and combinations that will keep you happy and safe at the same time:
