do you lose back pressure on a resonator delete?

nothing significant

no, zero difference. stock resonator is 100% free flowing, it just has a perforated core. Plus on your car the biggest bottle neck are the headers, not the exhaust system.

Resonator delete is purely for sound.

its only noticable when you give it a little gas...its a pretty nice sound

Forgive my noobness, but what are the benifits of this delete as well as the downfalls? Can one still pass the emissions test with said delete?

all the resonator does is quiet your exhaust down so yes you will still pass emissions.

the only effects that deleting it has on your car is that it will make the ehxaust slightly louder and will free up a very minimal restriction (unoticeable).

You will save on avg roughly 25-30lbs in weight so its not that "slight". on my E55 it saved 24.5 lbs but the W202 resonator seems to be larger so weight loss might be slightly more.

However, Keep in mind, only do resonator delete if you plan on keeping stock muffler. Aftermarket muffler without resonator delete will be way too loud and drone too much.

It does yield a bit of a 'droaning' sound without it on the hiway or other constant engine speeds. We'll deal, but the Mrs.'s may have a thing to say about it.

for what its worth. I my W210 E55 the resonator delete / X-pipe mod did give me more sound and higher quality sound with no annoying droning during normal driving. I kept my stock exhaust too, but the stock E55 exhaust is a true 100% free flowing muffler, where as C36 is not. C43 i'm not 100% sure but I have a feeling it might be 100% free flowing but again not 100% sure. The only way to know for sure is stick a flashlight down the exhaust tips and see if you can see all the way through the muffler to the entrance pipes through the perforated core or if there is a baffle. It will be pretty obvious.
