Hey guys, I havent been on for a while, but with the summer approaching, im looking to just do a bigger drop.

Heres my current stance:
http://x7c.xanga.com/f16c001627432146630874/w108772683.jpg

Nothing special, simply running stock pads all around, H&R Springs, and stock shocks.

First thing im going to do is put in bilstein sports shocks. In terms of going lower all I have planned right now is removing the pads. Im going to run no pads all around.

Do keep in mind tho that Im running
18" NZO Corsas 18x8.5F 18x10R
225/40/18F Falken 452
255/35/18R Falken 452

I dont know what the lowest I can go before I start getting rubbing?

How long have you been riding on stock shocks with your H&R springs?

honestly that car looks pretty good ride height, you only need a bit more, try #1 pads all around that may be enough to get you at the perfect ride height

try painting the bottom lips to match the colour of your car, you may find that only bcuz the bottoms are black you want to lower it!

Ive really been thinking on it. hahah really have

You know my situation with
18" NZO Corsas 18x8.5F 18x10R
225/40/18F Falken 452
255/35/18R Falken 452

Had to run a 5mm spacer in the rear as well.

Do you think im going to run into trouble if I cut a coil and drop to no pads?

I would cut a 1/2-1 coil and run #1 pads. At least if you're too low, you could just up the pad size from there.

sensory, is your ride bouncy with those springs and stock shocks?

I don't believed in cutting your springs just to look low.
I won't recommend it at all and won't recommend no pads.

I suggest going the conservative, preferably-reversible route first by trying #1 pads first, and then if it is still not to your liking to cut a coil -

but like a girl who's on her period I don't recommend running without pads, and I would have a reputable shop do any modification/alteration to your suspension components.

Looking at the stance of your car from that picture and your offsets/sizes, it looks like you're going to start rubbing if you go lower, so rolling the fender might be next on your checklist if you decide to go lower.

Good luck!

Here we go again...

I ran with cut springs for over a year and a half and somehow I survived. Somehow, my stock shocks were fine as well. After all of that "abuse" none of my shocks were leaking after pulling them out at 86,000 miles!

I can understand that you don't like it, but why wouldn't you reccomend it?

OK i'm not gonna pretend like I know 100% what i'm talking about here but here goes...

i ran H&R Cup Kit with no pads for about 2 days, like you, i wanted a nice low aggressive look. It was horrible. WORST ride a car could ever have. i threw in #2 pads all around and the ride was still low but it was so much smoother.

you can't feel the smoothness of your ride. Just like your riding on Hyundai that is 5yrs old. Now it's up to you if you're gonna listen to us or not. I just don't wanna offend anybody.

welll, the best way i can explain it is like this

(and don't ask me how i came up with this "theory" lol)

Let's say u wanted to be physically shorter... so your spine is made up of vertebrae and soft discs. lets say that the shims are the discs, you know cushioning your springs (vertebrae) and all. The wrong way to become shorter would be to remove your spinal discs because although you'd be shorter, your vertebrae would be rubbing against eachother and it would be harsh for your spine to bend and move around. when you take out all your shimpads your removing the buffering/cushioning in your suspension and creating an unneccessarily stiff ride where certain parts of your suspension are touching eachother too "harshly". Instead, change your shims so they are smaller and consider getting lower springs. This way the ride o fthe car is not unbearable, and you still achieve an aggressive look.

wow i never thought i would compare a human spine to a car's suspension...

I'm running H&R Cup Kit with no pads. And if you like a smooth and relaxing ride dont run that.
You are going to feel every little thing on the road, and bounce around like a cangaroo on speed in the seat :D

But hey its all about looking cool right? :P

I say stick with the 18s btw...the 17s were too small. If you had 19" Mono Vs, then there would be no questions of what to roll :D
