The top little piece of my bumper cracked on my '96 C220 and I've been told from parts dealers' that the bumper is all one piece. I believed this until I saw a picture of a bumper for sale on eBay and the seller had taken off the bottom piece (since it was a newer model bumper) and the top piece (the piece that is cracked on mine). Then I thought it had to be two separate pieces. Can anyone tell me if they know whether or not it's one or two pieces?

Years ago i helped my dad fiber glass a boat it may be possible to do this to your bumper from the back side where it is not visible and reinforce the crack there are plastic resin's that can be injected in the crack that will have a chemical reaction with the bumper and temporarily soften the crack seam and cause the plastics to flow then bond. If you decide to do this you will need to remove the bumper for a couple days for everything to cure correctly. The other thing is you will need to sand the entire bumper prime and re paint it. The process is similar to bondo on the metal body panels sand every thing smooth etc etx it is a real pita but can be done. Or fine a junker in your area and snagg the bumper and just have it refinished.

Thanks Adamsry and RemoLexi, that really helps. I think I am going to try and find one from a salvage yard somewhere, does anyone know a salvage yard that carries Mercedes in the Midwest? I live in Kansas, and I don't want to pay an arm and leg for shipping from Florida or some place off the coast.
