View Full Version : Can somebody help me import AMG Monoblock wheels??
Hello guys,
I live in South Africa and currently drive a W202 C230K AMG.
I currently have the original "17 Monoblock rims but would like to purchase a set of "18 Monoblock rims.
Now, there are many places in the U.S that stock these rims but I cannot find a place that ships to South Africa!?
Can someone give me advice or help me with this?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Nes :)

I have emailed most of the guys on ebay, but they dont ship to South Africa.
Just want to know if anyone has shipped stuff abroad or knows anybody that does so?

Drew, that sounds cool with me...
Let me find out the procedure from UPS or DHL over here.
Apparently this is the cost breakdown:
1. 20% import duty + 14% tax will be added to the price.
2. Then I should add between $90-$100 per wheel depending on the size.
Hectic hey?
How much do you want for them Drew?

i can't send them as a vendor sample or gift? that seems to work going to some countries anyways.
i don't think i could package them small enough to go usps- but that would be the cheapest otherwise (i believe).
I shipped my amg intake to norway with them for only $50 (large box there)
I doubt it will turn out to be worth it, but i'm willing ot look into it. I'm also willing to try to help you out in shipping some different wheels there if you'd rather go that route. I'm curious about how to make it work and it sounds like you could use some help.

my advice to you is stop calling your car an AMG!!!

lamf is pretty much saying that they never made a 230k amg
Thanks Logic/LAMF.
Yeah, I know that... maybe I should explain that we never got the C36 nor the C43 AMG versions.
Here in SA, Mercedes launched a few W202 models with the original C43 kit (I will take pics of the AMG stamps for you non-believers).

Car was imported to SA as is. It is a 5spd Manual too.
In defence if you guys just saw the Pic, most of you would never have guessed the above was a C230K, hence me giving you the short of it..."C230K AMG".
Apologies to anyone offended though.
So, back to business....
The gift packaging idea is what I am looking For! We do not pay customs for this.
How much would you sell me your wheels for Drew?

asking was $800 it's not exactly wheel season- $700 plus the actual shipping?
thanks for your reply Drew.
$700 Sounds fair.
Just a few quick questions:
Can you please check with the postage guys on your side around what it would cost to ship the wheels over to S.A?
Address:
Street: 3 Simmonds Str.
City: Johannesburg
Province: Gauteng
Country: South Africa
Postal Code: 2107
In what condition are your wheels?
Are they original?
Do they have the AMG engravings?
Are your wheels coming along with Tyres right?
Thanks Drew!!

just because some one throws a amg badge still doesn't really make it that but i see what you are saying. most badges like that can be bought on ebay. do your gauges say AMG on them? any thing in the engine have any AMG ? you said a 5 speed manuel??? i would like to see pictures of that.
Logic,
Are we still on about this AMG thing I see. Seems a little hard to believe that Mercedes actually took a common C230K and stuck on AMG Bumpers, AMG Side skirts, AMG Wing, AMG exhaust, Lowered suspension (standard too) and...wait for it.....AMG badge (*GASP*)....?
Want my VIN# to check with Mercedes? I mean, just to put your mind at ease there dude?
I have no clue about the engine. Doubt it has anything AMG. The dials DO NOT have the AMG branding either. *sigh*
Here is a pic of my Interior to confirm the Tranny:

Quite cool huh!!!?? :bunny: I just luuuuurve Track days!
So for those that got their knickers in a knot, I sincerely apologise on behalf of my B@stardized car. The car is NOT an AMG. It is a stupid garnished looking C230K.
Right. Everyone happy. As you were.

mine have been refinished/customized with darker graphite centers and silver outers. I could redo them in all silver if you wanted.
Let me know if you like them as they are? there are pics in the for sale forum here.
i will include tires if you want- but i'll have to charge a bit more AND it will REALLY increase shipping costs. you'd likely be much better served getting tires there.

Nes,
The AMG body-kit is a factory fitted option that is offered for just about any run-of-the-mill Mercedes model sold in Australia as well (about AU$10,000)
It would seem from some of the comments that not every country offered this option!
So don't feel bad about your very nice C230K AMG!
