Hi there, a question from over the pond. I have bought some W210 facelift mirrors from ebay but the covers are on the mirrors. How do I remove them so I can fit them to my W202? I know on the W202 they need to be pushed back so that the clip is exposed and then this can be unhooked with a screwdriver. Is this the same on the W210 mirrors too?
Any help greatly appreciated.

No the mirrors are different shapes, they also need to be modified for the plugs to fit.

Yes no problem, but I have the little dilemna of taking the mirror housings off from the mirrors. Any thoughts or hints and tips?

yeah, they're pretty straight forward. there is a spring-loaded latch that locks the housing to the mirror assembly.
step 1) pull the mirror towards the front of the vehicle
step 2) using a flat head screwdriver, release the latch by pressing it towards the rear of the car
step 3) pull the housing out away from the car (perpendicular)

Is this the same for folding and non-folding mirrors?

Right ok thats sorted then.
The problem is that the mirrors arent attached to a car at the moment. How do I pull the mirror far enough so I can find the piece to release?
