Is ebay a good place to get the avantgarde grille? has anyone put the one on their car thats got black slats with chrome ends like this?

My grill insert is chrome with glossy black slats. OEM W210 part cut down to fit.

Some people have had hit or miss luck with eBay grill inserts. I'm sure someone who has purchased one from a seller can chime in.

Where did you buy yours? I can't find a website that has them for sale. I've read the info on this site for installation but to clarify...it just goes right where the other insert is currently correct? Exterior housing holds it with no mods?

i purchased my insert from ebay but its called a s600 insert and paid about 60.00 bucks. the quality isn't bad for what you pay for it ... i have had mine about 8 months and its holding up pretty well....the place i bought it for some reason is no longer a ebay seller but once in a while you will see one pop up there.

i noticed mine looks very close to this one but i noticed my grill insert look a little different on the side, on the left mine had a small area where if you look on your factory grill on the left side there is a small blockage where the air goes in threw to the air box . this one doesn't have it..

Yea same here. I bought the S600 insert from ebay and it looks exactly the same. Only $60

You can get the OEM grill at the dealer. PN# A210 888 0123.

Be sure to buy an insert not a cheapass ebay kit.

Easiest way to find out is to call your local dealer's part department and ask directly. ;)

If they're telling me that the part number you spec'd is for an E-class will it still fit or will I have to cut it down?

I've done a "search on the topic" pretty much every day. I haven't really found enough information to spend $150 on a grill that might not fit correctly. Does that make sense?

Most people on here get the S600/Avant Garde grill from ebay.
