im trying to locate the locking pump on my 98 w202, diagrams show that is in between the rear seats and the break lights, nothing there when seen through the trunk, will i have to come up from under neath the wheel well to replace it or is there another way to get to it?

the locking pump should be under your rear seat passenger side , just lift the bottom up and its right there

i lifted the seat and all i saw was the plastic liner, theres no compartment where the pump would fit. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h78/kemicalkidd/backseat.jpg

i previously checked the trunk

It is on the right side of the bottom picture behind the black covering that is still in place (just forward of the white plastic bag).

Also, I believe it is going to be inside a black box, so don't be surprised if you do not see the pump itself until you get into the black box.

yea, its protected by a black foam covering. Remove the side piece on the right side and youll see the foam protectant covering. And its right there
