swaping the door inserts

Ok ive finally got my hands on leather door cards for my car. Only issue is that the new cards have carbon trim and my car has wood, so Im planning on taking the wood inserts from the old dooor cards and swaping them with the carbon inserts on the new cards. Is this possible and whats the best way to do it? Regards
