My C280 is starting to sputter in idle. It's throwing one code, the code reads misfire in cylinder 4. I've already changed all the spark plugs and replaced the coil for that cylinder. I've also changed the MAF, and put seafoam through the motor but it's still doing the same thing. The next thing I'm gonna replace is the fuel filter and plug wires. If that doesn't aleviate my problem what else could I do? Could it be a bad wiring harness?

Did you replace the coil end when you replaced the coil?

I thought that didn't apply to the V6 motors. Am I wrong?

Sorry, I didn't realize you had a V6.

I have the very same problem P0304. Cylinder misfire #4. I already replaced the spark plugs, wire set, coils, coil wire harness. I am so stumped. The shaking worries me, sometimes it shakes quite a lot. I've given up and will be taking it to be checked by a very knowledgeable indy mechanic this saturday. Will let you know what he finds.

try switching the plug wires to another cylinder. if that cylinder misfires replace the wires.

Ok, went to the indy mechanic and unfortunately not good news for me. I really hope this is not your problem. He said something about head has a crack or is broken, and they have to open up the engine to see if they can repair it, or they might have to replace it. Estimate was $2000+

He told me just to get rid of it, sell it for parts.
