Hi All

My ride W202 C220 1996, at the moment i'm thinking of dropping my ride using H&R sport spring. When i asked the dealer here in Malaysia, they only carry the stock for w202 model 1996 and above which the part no is : 29749-1. As for w202 c220 1994 model the part no is : 29926-1. (correct me if i'm wrong)

Technically can i just go ahead to install 29749-1, the dealer told me the reason they dont keep stock for 1994 model, is that our road not suitable for the 29926-1 spring...:-(

Is there any demage to my ride in long term if i opted for 29749-1? or the difference is just the stiffness of the spring?

or else just install eibach? :-))))

Pls help.

yusof.

Eibach on #1 pads is the most functional drop for the money. However, replace your shocks at the same time with sport shocks that are designed for the increased spring rate.

My personal favorite are the Koni yellows on the softest setting. You really dont lose any ride quality, especially if you have harsh roads out there, but you have all the benefits of a tighter suspension and lower center of gravity.

Also. upgrade to CLK sway bars, and LCA bushings. Adjustable camber arms in the rear will help you save money on tires as the lower stance will cause your inside tire tread to chew up quickly.

Just my $.02!

the 1996 i-6 is very heavy so if you put those springs on your car may not be as an extreme drop
