Hey guys. Everyday that goes by I want a better S/C more and more. When I first join I posted a thread on HP increse. Well C55m80 gave me this info QUOTE "Or, you can stick with the roots type for lower RPM torque but not as much gains at hi-rpm torque, i.e. power, as you can attain with the above supercharger.
http://www.magnusonproducts.com/models.htm

You probably have the SC with the flow of the MP45 now. (other here know I'm sure) You can consider stepping up to the MP62 -IF- you add hi-flow intake, headers, cat and exhaust, only." END QUOTE. How much work am I looking at if I got this S/C? I mean how many components would I have to switch out to be able to handle the extra power? How much extra power am I looking at? Is the gain from these tiny Superchargers even worth the money? What other kind of work am I looking at? (cause I seriously doubt its a bolt-on. just too good to be true) And last how much would all of this cost me? Thanks again! :D

simply raise the boost of your m45. the m62 may call for larger displacement than the M111 can handle even bored out. i've scratched the surface on this possibility and the larger SC is probably better suited for the V6 found in the 98+ C280s

I think it would be cheaper to do a turbo setup rather then trying to fit the 62s/c its not that small.

best bet is raising the boost with the 45

Is it possible to make my S/C louder?? Cause I can barely hear it, especially now since I have loud exhaust. I dont want it to be as loud as a Ford Lighting or anything. I just want it to whine alittle you know?? So is this possible? Thanks

don't know why you would wanna hear it but like i told you before , when you get this custom intake done not only will you hear the supercharger whine better , you will also hear the by pass make a pshhhhhhhh sound when you let off the gas before it shifts. sounds like a turbo blow out valve.

Sweeeaat. psssh sound. Um u dont like the sound of a supercharger??? The wheeeeeeaaaannn. Its beautiful. I love it. Is there anyway to bring the sound out even louder? Mabey by removing a peice or something?

i dont think you want any louder then what this makes. i feel its loud enough for me with out being a nuisence.

change your intake to a cold air intake with a pod filter and you should here it whine a bit more, hit up paul (23k) he made a custom supercharger intake ask him how much it whined.

get a pulley kit to up boost pressure and a decent intercooler will help to. i wouldnt change s/c it can quickly become an overpriced nightmare

paul's intake is sitting in my garage as we speak out here in the states :)

that is, until VIP_MBZ from this board has time to drive down and pick it up.

if i were you, just go with the ASP pulley kit, upgrade your fuel preassure regulator, and keep your stock air box. i wouldnt mess with a chip tune unless you're completely maxxed out, and want that little bit more umph, because the tune will not be safe if you make performance changes that could significantly alter air to fuel ratios.

chip tune is kinda like the very last step. if you wanted to do a really high end exhaust, get 200 cell cats, and pickup the supersprint M111 header from jstrat, and the supersprint cat-back exhaust from OCKlasse. those paired up with a pulley would realistically put about 30hp to the rear wheels, and you'd be at a safe 9.5lbs of boost while still passing SMOG testing.

230K + custom Intake = massive whine
...i find it a alittle intrusive and prefer the more subtle turbine induction sound myself...to see if you prefer the whine simply remove your airbox completely, remember to keep the bypass attached to the system...take if for a quick thrash on a non-dusty road....also if your concered about inhaling somthing damaging temporarilly steal somones stockings and tape one layer over the intake pipe...=)

I would leave the SC as is...do what PG mentioned SS header and exhaust...do a dyno run before and after on the exhaust as nobody ever does this and i really really want to know how well the ss system works =)....keep your stock intake...do a pully kit.

Cheers,
Paul

proven why did you decide against the cold intake? for a bit you almost had my friend build one for you , then you bought another and looks like you sold it . ?

The cold air intakes like logics and mines are ridiculously loud. Take it threw a tunnel people would think your cars engine blew up lol. All you hear is wahhhhhhhggghhhhhhpssssssstttt. Its not worth putting a bigger Supercharger in, i've already talked to eaton a yr ago, and they said and i quote it would take alot of time and money with massive fabrication to get it on there. As we all told you before there isn't much to do to the 23ks. We f'ing wrote the books on hooking up the c230ks. The only thing i haven't seen yet is a twin turbo w202, and a sequential turbo supercharged setup (its possible i've seen it on the Toyota sicons) dude look threw old post, i'm pretty sure if you search BENZ_NEWBIE, all of your questions will be answered LMAO. At one point in time i was just like you on here, i wanted to hook this bitch up to blow atleast civics si's with the vtechs. those vtechs are fast btw.

get a loan for 7k and turbo your car.......story done, no need to whine.
you'll get 400hp for about 2mins till your tranny fries.

or get a loan for about 4k and just do the simple bolt ons.

from my experience doing it all at once is the best way to go.

but see do you see the money to hp ratio........its pretty f'ing steep i don't think you realize it. I wish up to this day i didn't start hooking my shit up

10k plus you car = a c43 supercharged :D 400hp + stable <---formula for mustang killer...think about it

BTW ARE SUPERCHARGERS ARE ON A CLUTCH!!!!!!!!.....THOSE SUPERCHARGERS WILL NOT WORKK

Damn man. You just took a 5min piss on my fire... Lmao, I understand though, you were just being brutaly honest. Im sorry for asking about all these performance parts, I just want to make my 202 the best it can be. I will just stick with a CAI, Pulley, Ecu Chip, and then more weight reduction. Thanks guys
