Hello Guys!

I am in a bit of a fix from this weekend.

My belt snapped into a gazillion pieces so I do not know what belt was on originally.

I own a 98 230K Sport. Stock. Well, except the fact that it has Factory fitted AMG stuff.

Anyway, the Guys from MB are struggling with replacing the belt.

Apparently the OEM belt is too short!?!?

The belt is a 6bk1330 and apparently there is no larger size from them.

Nobody can understand why because it has ALL the original factory fitted pulleys.

Can someone help me with advice on how to resolve this problem PLEASE? :(

Isn't it supposed to be a 6PK1330 instead of the 6bk1330 you quoted?

I think it is 6"b"k1330.

Anyway, this problem was resolved yesterday night. The guy from Mercedes brought over a 6bk550 belt which fitted EXACTLY... was afraid it might be too tight, but it was perfect!

Apparently, my car HAS been tweaked a bit. The Crank pulley is larger than the normal W202 230K. I was well chuffed when I heard that, because the car looks the business and goes really well - which I knew from the time I purchased the car.

Very weird tho that Merc "Modified" the car. Reason I say this, is that ALL the pulleys are OEM.

Has anybody else have any experience with this??
