Anyone have these headlights? It says no compatible with HID? Anyone try this, I'm thinking of maybe getting them but want to make sure they will work with my HID conversion kit.

try searching.
someone before had posted a beam-pattern on those with HID's.. or maybe even halogen's.. cant remember.
eitherway, the beam-pattern was horrible and was going everywhere.
beam pattern was not straight, had no e-code pattern, and eitherway was random.

yes its compatible. The only thing you really need is Hella lenses (not too expensive).

Alot of the BMW guys will put used X5 or audi projectors into their ebay housings and it drastically improves the output. The problem is lens quality.
Go on ebay and look for some Xenon lenses and then just swap them out.

I have a set of these on my car right now:
http://www.racerbits.com/servlet/Detail?no=754
I e-mailed the seller and asked him if they were compatible with HID lighting systems, and he said no?
Any reason for saying that? Will the HIDs melt the lens or something?

No not at all. HIDs actually run much cooler than normal incandescent bulbs and only use 35watts instead of 55 watts. Normal bulbs get boiling hot, HIDs run much cooler b/c its a true welding arc not a hot wire filament.
The REASON those are not HID compatible is b/c they are not low beam projections, the foglight is projection only. Those are not the right headlights for HIDs at all and honestly even normal bulbs the light out put on those will be garbage. OEM would be much better than those.

so i'm holding off on those headlights, seen pics of it installed and not crazy about how they look on the car, looks to aftermarket for my taste.
I did however but one of those HID kits from e-bay and for $70 shipped to my house and it arrived in 2 days ( very shocked) I installed it and wow i'm so happy, I got the 6000K because it has the best colour and visiability and I love how it looks and performs, a really big difference in lighting. I am very very happy with the purchase and it took 20 min to install and uses the stock wires so no cutting wires.
Recommended if you want to upgrade your lighting.

yup 6000k is best combo of color and light although now I am leaning towards 5000k b/c it has even higher visibility. either one is still 3x better than stock. OEM housings do a pretty good job of blocking off the excess light although there is SOME leakage its not terrible as many other OEM housings.
