Hey guys, long time no post...
Anybody use/know about
Group Specialist (http://group-specialist.com/index.php) ?
My bud took his wife's CLK430 in for service and seemed to think it was OK. Just wondering what y'all think.
RWC is kinda far for me but if they do good, fair, honest work it would be worth it. And it appears that they have free rentals for major services.
Thanks!

Never heard of it. But make sure they're only specialized in MB and no other cars. A lady president? Does she have any experience at all? Does she work on her own car like a MB?
Are they just good at customer service? ;)

From the website, it looks like they do BMW too.

LOL, that is what I was thinking... But who knows, it might be better than having a guy in charge :p

Thanks man! I am in the south bay so that might be a little far. I was looking for other options to take my car for the transmission problems. I found a place in Burlingame (no, not Topline :) that works on MB transmissions so I am going to give it a shot. I'll report back with findings.
Oh, the place is Peter Schmidt (sp?) Transmission. Recommended by my brother's neighbor's son (how 'bout that connection??) that works on MB's.

Doesn't look good:

Appears they're being charged with all kinds of insurance fraud.

D'oh!
Thanks Renn! I went up there with my friend to pick up his wife's CLK 430. Looked like a clean shop, they appeared to do OK work.
Hmmm, where to take mine for the 100K now...

Thanks, Greg.

>>Oh, the place is Peter Schmidt (sp?) Transmission<<

Is this the place?

I read some really positive comments about the place on one of the MB forums once and bookmarked the site. You might do some searching at Benzworld and MBWorld. I think that is where I got the information.

I guess that I posted the OP before I took my car in for the transmission.

I had the rebuild done at
http://www.peterschmidtransmission.com/

They did an OK job.

Group specialists is more of a general repair/service place.

I did tell my bud (the one who used them) about this and he said that the place told him he had an oil leak and transmission leak that needed to be fixed right away. He knew that wasn't true so said no thanks.

Lying dishonest mofos got what they deserved.

Thanks again to Renn for pointing this out.
