Has anyone used these? A friend of mine has this brand in his Lexus and they're the correct white I want.

Nope but the ones I have are 6000k. They are very bright white up close but theres a hint of blue when you get further away from them. They were only $180. and the ballasts are much slimmer. I can give you the email to the guy I got them from if you want. Or you can talk to a member on here "BishOp".

Does the size of the ballasts matter? A friend of mine has these on his Lexus and I like the color. These are regularly 500 on sale and are Phillips...I just need to know if they fit.

nope. you'll either way need to drill those ballast on the back of your housing, or find a spot where you can zip tie them.

or you can use the double sided tape. I also have a friend who can get a hold of kits for 150.

Only slim ballast kits will fit on our cars b/c there isn't enough room for massive ballasts anywhere near the headlights. You can get a slim ballast H7 kit for $180, but I actually have a brand new H7 slim ballast kit I'm selling for $140 ($180 normally), its 6000k and has lifetime warranty if interested. Let me know

Cannot believe you guys would support half-assing like that. :(

Something is really wrong with people's notion of modding and/or upgrades.

not quite. i absolutely do not suggest/even support chucking in HID's in improper housing.

however, i just thought i'd help in a bit.

1) I thought you were more of the purist type, and you really threw me off when you wrote about zip ties holding ballasts! LOL

2) Your quote above is contradicting, isnt it?

Lastly, Quit messing with my brain, Im too old for it nowadays...... ;)

Just jumping in here -- there's a big difference between Philips/Hella kits and the 150 variety. One of them is OE-grade and will last about 10 years, and the other is usually cheaply made crap that might die on you. =P

I'm a lighting geek and have been through about a dozen different setups (different optics, different bulb/ballast combos) in a few different cars, and my experience says get OE-grade (Sylvania or Philips) or don't bother with HID. And after that, stuffing them into a regular DOT halogen housing will give you worse light than just getting a good halogen bulb. It will give oncoming traffic plenty, though.

Don't get anything off Ebay,

stealth Auto's are phenomenal quality and are a bargain with LIFETIME WARRANTY at $175,

I'm selling my extra H7 kit for only $139 shipped, if anyone is interested let me know.

has anyone replaced the glass with a clear glass that has no ribs on it? curious if this would help the clarity of the light...

the OEM stock lenses actually help improve light output by directing it everywhere and spreading it more. You would probably see a reduction light output where you would need it and more just shining everywhere

cool well i'm going to put them in this weekend

another thing: i can't decide what wheels to get for the life of me.
i like the Mono II's but they everyone has em.
i like a 5 spoke design so the w211 18's are clean. anyone know if they bolt pattern is right? i've seen pictures and its nice.

I'm running W211 18's -- you need aftermarket lug bolts and run undersized tires in the front (225).
