Cup holder loose?

Hi all,

I just bought one of those cup holders that pops out two separate holders. For some reason it feels loose inside the housing. It isn't a tight fit and it come right out. Is it because the housing on 96+ w202s had extra pieces inside which the cup holder is slid into?

I'm trying to visualize what you mean when you say "pops out two cupholders" Are you referring to the stock one that pops up and twists out? With the cupholder removed you should see tabs on the back wall of the housing it slides into. These slide into tabs on the cupholder. It is not a seriously snug fit, and is made to pop in and pop out. I just replaced mine since the other broke, and noticed that there are screw holes on the factory one. I may find some very short screws and see if I can tighten it down some. pictures would help.
