Removing more weight

Ok so who knows how to get the rear back cushion out of the car? I have already taken out the rear seat cushion because it is very simple to put in and out (2 push clip) but now I want to take the rear back cushion out for an extra weiht loss. There are 3 bolts that you can unsrew to get it loose from the bottom but when I pull on it from the bottom it feels like its still attached to something towards the very top of the cushion like near the head cushions but I cant figure out what. I cant see what its attached to and I dont want to break it. So if you guys could help me out really quick cause I am going to race my friend tomorrow and I think im going to need that weight loss. **I dont have the optional rear seat pull down.** Thanks again guys

that rear seat weighs nothing and won't give you any extra edge by pulling it out. if you want weight loss pull the spare tire out with your box etc etc.

ya man that weighs like 10lbs, but im sure you just pull up on it. But remove the bolts first im pretty sure that how it comes out.

wtf The seat cushion must weight at least 25lbs. And the back cushion is bigger than the seat cushion so im guessing its ganna weigh more. Thats atleast 50lbs right there... idk about your car but 50lbs for mine would be significant. :Ponder: And I think theres more to it than just those three bolts. in cars like yours there should be 2 10 mm bolts at each end. the center drop down cushion , there is usually a flap leather on a plastic hook. there might be 2 more bolts there if you on hook the piece. sometime the seatbelt bolt will have a piece of metal that runs to the seat. if so remove those . after your done lift up on the seat since there are hook on the top of the seat that hold it to your car. hope this helped

Im racing a Audi A4 2.0 Turbo. I destroyed him when he was stock (it was bad, i jumped on him and just kept pulling lol) But he got $1700 borla exhaust and $700 custom intake which is incased in what looks like a $300 full carbon fiber airbox. We did a little race on the street. From the start I jumped on him again but he stayed right on my rear fender and slowly started to catch up. (very slowly) So were ganna go to an abandoned strip of highway near the evergaldes and do races from all types of speeds (like 0-topspeed lol) and some highspeed fly bys. O and were ganna get it all on video.

those three bolts are it. try pulling the seat up as you take it out. there are no other bolts holding it in.

those audi's aren't very fast in my eyes. a friend of mine has one and pretty much left him behind . also i found out those acura rl V6 aren't that peppy either as i pulled away from him too.
i guess you better get that intake done pretty quick:P

I've had mine out before. And I'm positive it wasn't 50 lbs.

I doubt that a '00 seat back weighs more than a '94. But still, you are looking to reduce weight.

Are you sliding the back up toward the ceiling or pulling it out toward the front of the car?

Mine had to go up before out. Same with the 84 and the 80 that I've had. But I think I notice that you have motorized fold down head rests. I have no experience with those.

i dont think we are giving you a bad time on this . unless you are like removing like 300 lbs from the car your not going to achieve much more then the car is already doing.

Logic you gave me some good advice. Its some of the other comments I have a problem with. Trust me, the race is close enough where the weight I am taking out will make a difference. Im not racing him till next weekend now though so I will try to remove that seat by pulling up monday or tuesday cause im booked 2maro. Thanks :D

Its an abandoned strip of highway. We have to drive like 20mins to the middle of no where. Alot of people race there for money and stuff. (with much faster cars ofcourse) Thanks for the kind thinking though. :D (not sarcasm)

actually the front seats are damn heavy ... they are easy to remove but maybe if u can find a racing seat to barrow ... ?

use your stock rims, 15's are much lighter then whatever you have on in the picture.

what intake you have ? maybe invest some $$ to make a custom cold air intake Orrrr .... if your willing to try this you can take out where your stock box cleaner goes find a funnel to guide the air into your intake and remove your passenger headlight, use a nylon stocking and a tie to filter are large debris you my have.

all ghetto, but if you need to make a point then do so..

Remove the trunk lid and hood, they weigh the most and it's easy to put back on later. Also, run on 1/4 tank of gas so it's lighter and remove 4quarts of your engine oil because that weight about 10 lbs cold, and when the heat expands it, it quadruples the weight and bring it to 40lbs. Also when I race, I only wear a tshirt and boxers and go barefoot to save on clothes weight. And since it's street racing, I don't wear a helmet so it's even lighter. Oh and dump all of your washer fluid too, you don't need that shit. If you race during the day, remove your headlights, that will be lighter and it will act as a cold air intake, giving you approximately 10 or 15 WHP.

With all of the above mods, you should be able to take on any Honda (except the civic, accord, nsx, integra, prelude and S2000. Oh and Ridgeline, Element and CR-V).

Rails: 2 front, 2 right; seatbelt. It lifts right out...

oh, there's also a wire harness, probably for the seatbelt light.

his mods probably didn't add any power unless he got it tuned

those cars are definitely capable of some excellent power (the fastest local ones are MUCH faster than a stock C43 for example)

i too agree it's not worth the effort to remove this piece or anything extra that doesn't come easily out. In my honest opinion removing the spare isn't even worth it for street racing- you'll be more clowned if you get a flat and get stuck some where than you would be if you lost be the 1/4 length the spare will net you...

My spare has been out of my car for a while now lol. Actually I can take down alot of cars. The Accord V6 cant touch me (not 08') Ive beaten the Acura TL, RL (Automatic), V6 Mustang, Pontiac G6 (none GT/GTP), Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT Manual (not the newer models),Nissan Alitima 3.5/SER, Alitima Coupe 3.5, Ford F150 5.4 liter Triton Lariart cant touch me from low speeds, starting from anything above 35mph isnt a race anymore :( And ive actually kept up with a Infiniti G35 from 65mph and then he slowly pulled away at 90-100mph. :cool:

in the E55k i race nissans, hondas, other mercedez, bmw's anything!

the c230k starts a race at 80mph-135mph and last 20-30 seconds

the e55k starts a race at 100-155 and last only 5-7 seconds lol

both cars are fun to race.

we own a g35x (about teh slowest car you can buy with that engine) and you are not going to get close to beating any nissan or infiniti with the 3.5 in it PERIOD unless they aren't racing...

I beat the 3.5s i swear! And they were definetly racing. They would definetly catch up at higher speeds but the race doesnt last that long. Expo 5.0 what engine does the G35x have?

yea the e55k is totally amazing, i had 4 girls in the car with me when a kid tried to do a fly-by next to me with a m3 ... I saw him comming an this girls like "smoke em" as soon as the kid got closer i dialed a higher speed with my cruise control and let him get a good glimpse of my polished exhuast pipes and polished differential heat sink. that was the last time I tried to race pathetic stock M3's.

all in all in reality there are possible ways of beating cars that c230k has said. i infact have raced some cars mentioned and smoked them. since maybe your amg might be fast doesn't mean are cars aren't too. thats why they call it bragging rights :D

I'll have to agree with most people, removing just the back seats won't get you anywhere. You may *think* it will be faster, but 30 pounds of cushions won't help a bit.

As for your kill list, I certainly have my doubts. Some of them just don't seem possible, but then again, if you did what you say you did, kudos to you..

Honestly, the 202 isn't a car built for racing. Even with one as decorated as mine is, racing is nothing but dangerous, and with your kill list, I'm sure most of them are on public highways. My advice to you is to do whatever you want off public roads, as you can only hurt yourself, and even that would be tragic,but please for the love of others, don't pretend you're fast and race others on public roads..

G35x has essentially the same 3.5 litre as all "35" designated nissan's infiniti's.

It's fairly quick but that had very little to do with our purchase.

the E55s REALLY aren't as fast as you guys are making them sound. Dont' get me wrong- i like them a lot, but they aren't so far ahead of the competition as you seem to think.
