clearcoat peel on wheels

I have 3 piece wheels and the clearcoat is starting to peel just on the chrome lip part. What is the process and where do I take 'em to resolve this. I'm out of warranty from the wheel company. Any help would be great.

You have to take them to a wheel shop and have them stripped and recleared. You must have a polished and not chromed lip if the clear is peeling.

Yeah, I meant to say polished. We don't have just rim shops here in Milwaukee, does anyone know where I could send them or maybe just the lip part could be removed and sent in? Thanks.

My wheels look like they have a polished lip the front wheels are starting to get dirty. Even when i wash them its not as shiny as they use to be. Does this mean i am in the same boat as you?? Would the wheel shop that i got them from apply the clear coat for me?

What I'm seeing is spots, some as big as a quarter where the clear sort of bubbled and came off then dirt gets in around the edges and you can't get it clean looking.

lol exactly my problem. The dirt doesnt come off. What do we do?

like oc said,bring it to a wheel shop. there's not much that you can do. try wheels america

Take it to a regular body shop to have stripped and recleared. They could do just as good if not a better job that the wheel place.

I don't recommend disassembling the wheel yourself though. Torque specifications and order are critical. Call manufacturer about those.
