Hey guys I failed a warrent of fitness in my c280 due to a play in a front right idler arm which needs replacing apparntly. Ive been told this is part of the drag link is this true? or are they different parts? It looks like something that attaches to the draglink?

Your idler link connects to one of these ends, and the other end of the idler link connects to your frame. Its used as a guide.

Cheers for that mate I understand now. Play between the idler arm and the drag link would have been the cause for less responsive steering correct?
Thanks for your help, most appreciated.

the play they are referring to in the idler arm is usually the bushing on the idler arm itself that wears out. you can replace just that bushing as it is sold as a "repair kit". you don't need to buy a new draglink unless the joints have play or one of the boots is torn/ripped.
