i'm just wondering if anyone whose slammed, have rubbing issues with 225 up front.

if i remember correctly, i think i used to have rubbing issues with 225/45/17.. and replaced them with 215

but i'm going to be getting on my new wheels soon and planning to get 225 stretched on 8.5.. but just remembered that it could rub.

any comments?

i rub but my car's extra low. its really minimal but i'll get 215's next time around. 225's don't look that stretched on 8.5s to me.

the 225/40/18 on a 8.5 wheel will be fine also...my older wheels were 8.5 front and 9.5 rear with a 255/35/18

when you say stretch do you mean you want a smaller tire to stretch? becasue a 225 is bigger

I rubbed with Dunlop SP Sport up front as well with one passenger or more on u-turns (19 * 8.5 ET40 225/35/19). I was pretty damn dumped though. When I had my SLK55 wheels (18 * 7.5 225/40/18) I did not rub however.

if you want it to look nice, dump it. if its too low it will rub. I got fed up with it and didnt care about the rubbing - hell blast the music up. :D

do u guys think it'll be stupid running

215 with falken ST-115 (since its the only model that HAS 215)

and run 255 in the rear using falken 452's?

this is really .. my only choice if i wanted to run 215s..

Don't do it. The 452 is very squared while the 115 is very rounded. It will look too phat in the rear and too narrow up front. If I were you, I would run 215/40 and 235/35 452. Next time around that is what I'm doing :D (except I have 19s so 215/35 and 235/35).

I just wish Falken will reproduce the 451. they are the best with stretching..

well thanks for all the tips guy.

it was a bloody long day, luckily the shop owner was kind enough to let me play with all kind of tires.

tested from 215's, 225's, different brands blah blah blah.

yes, the 452 on 225's rubbed like a pig. (sort of expecting it)
so he offered Dunlop Z101's up front that ran 215 that has a awesome stretch.

well well, the pics are on the gallery, so enjoy!

I just had to take the front of mine up to a #2 pad cos #1 was rubbing on the front too much

225/40/18 up front on 8.5" (looks a little stretched)

paint on underside of my fender arch lip has worn through completely from rubbing down onto the moving tyre on hard lefts and freeway bumps...

that's with a Koni drop

still looks nice n low with a hint of being dumped so im stoked :)
