HVAC Problems

Hey guys!

So heres my issue. I have a 00 c230k. I have the hvac switched on and the roll switches are the center for "auto" temp. Today was warm.. 82F and the a/c was automatically on. The air was blowing cold, but about 20 min into running the passangers vent turns to heat and the drivers stays to cold. I turned the switch for the pass side to full cold and no change. So when I shut off the car and restart it, the air will blow cold again. This has happend a total of 3 times... Any suggestions? Have you have the same problems?

Malfunctioning duo valve that is letting hot water go ahead and enter the heating circuit for that side?

do you know if the valve is replaceable? or if there is any way of testing it? thanks for the reply

So a little update. I have found that turning the heat to full on both sides for a bit of time (5 to 10 min) then switching back to full a/c , that the a/c will then kick back on, on that side that switched... the problem still only happens randomly. Any suggestions?
