I have been looking at Mosselman kits and other performance enhancements for my car, I was wondering if it was possible to source separate turbo, wastegate, intercooler and other ancilliaries and then fit them without going to someone like Mosselman and avoid their high costs?
You sure can!
Is mosselmann really that expensive?

Usually $6k is possible for simple low boost total turbo kit installed.
Do you have M104?
No mine is an M111 C180 engine

...and I know where there's a stock C36 engine (and tranni, & wiring harness) for sale. Though I guess you gotta be in the 48 States or Canada to make shipping feasible.

honestly don't waste your money. for the cost of buying C36 motor, buying turbo parts, installing, and etc you will be in at aroud $15k including the value of your own car. For that you can literally get a really nice W210 E55 or even a high mileage CLK55.
Just sell your car and upgrade to an AMG, very simply, don't waste time & money, you will regret it later on.

theres alota foot shooters in here, but im sorry dude im gona have to agree with them.
u could probebly buy a c280 which would beat a turbo 180.
how set are you on keeping the 180? cos turbo kits are ALOT of work

Don't worry I'm not at all offended by comments, right now I'm considering possibilities. I love driving my car, I have a WALD kit to go onto it but was just looking at pros and cons of turboing it. A fellow member on another forum I belong to has done this successfully but he had alot of problems along the way (he has since taken the kit off his car). I don't want to destroy the car by adding something the engine can't take. I know that AMG cars of the same era are worth alot less than the turbo kit and with current fuel prices will probably drop further.
Thanks for your help guys.
