I am looking for 17" or 18" staggered wheels for my car, and would like to get recommendations on correct offsets to look for.

I intend to run a 225 width tire for the front, and a 245 or 255 for the rear.

With that said, I would be looking at the following wheels sizes:

17x7, and 17x8
17x7.5 and 17.8.5
17x8 and 17x9

18x8 and 18x9
18x8.5 and 18x9.5

I believe the OEM offset for the AMG 17x7.5 is ET35 front, and 17x8.5 ET32(?) rear.

Would these offsets be the same for any other wheel size I listed, with the tire sizes I mentioned?

It all depends on what style of wheel you are looking for. If youre looking for some massive lip on the rear then the offset woud differ from a non deep disk look.

If you really want to get the exact look youre looking for you need to hook up with a shop that will either have done this before or has the know how to point you in the right direction. Two shops come to mind are Sandar at TWS and Peter at wheelexperts. Either one of these two can get you the look you want.

kam put it this way

the most factor that will determine the correct offset is the rim width

so it doesn't matter if the rim is 17x8, 18x8, 19x8
they all should have the same offset for the same car..

so for the front setup base on my observation and calculation

front for 8" and 8.5" width rim:
18x8 should have offset between 25mm -38 mm
for 18x8.5 shoud have offwet between 30mm -35mm

remember the lowest number I post here might make the wheel right on the fender...
so it migh be risky ...
off course the ideal offset would also depend on how low/high is you suspension setup..

now the rear for 9" and 9.5"width rim:
18x9 should have offset between 27/28mm - 30mm
18x9.5 should offset between 30mm - 38mm

and 18x10 or 19x10 should have offset 40mm
now for 10" width I don't there is much room for "play"

you could always have 10" width rim with offset lower than 40mm but the wheel will stick out too much..

Remember this only the possibility off the offset that will fit to W202

regarding the precise fitment
alot of factor could attribute to this

such as front brake calliper..
1.I think W202 AMG could not have deep dish wheel on the front due to the big brake caliper..

2. tires
Different brand of tires and type (i.e max performance, all season, etc) could affect the shape of the edges of the tires (rounded off vs. more square shape) off course this would affect the clearance with respec to the fender..

3.suspension setup
How low and how high the drop is..
Since this would affect the degree of the chamber..
(basically the degree of how much the the wheel leaning inside from the fender, and off course this would affect the extra clearance for the fender :p)

Reminder : this is based on my calculation after I repeated measurement and trial attemp on my C36 with my current "drop"

So use this info wisely, as I am not responsible for actual fitment..

but if you ask me what is the ideal setup and offset

here is my answer

18x8 ET 35mm 225/40/18
18x9.5 ET 32mm 265/35/18

Cheers, :D:D:D:D:D

Also

with the current suspension setup on my C36 I don't want to run 10" width on the back is a bit risky since I like to drive in "spirited driving" mode many time :p

As many have tried to fit 18x10 SL 2 pc wheel with ET25mm..

without modification this will sure still fit..
but the lip will probably stuck out more than the rear fender..

I guess it depend on each preference

I like to fit the widest will possible and still being able to completely tuck in inside the fender :bunny: :bunny: :p :o ;)

But that's just me..
