Custom Paint

Hey guys,

I posted up a while ago when i smashed my car, so the time has come now to fix and get it painted.

Im struggling to think what paint colour/combo i will go, im looking at a sky blue over silver or something.

Has anyone on here done custom paint, anyone got any ideas?

I would stay with one solid color.

Solodough had a custom paint job on his car.

try doing a flat color....either black or white......be the test subject

it will prob either be a deep burgandy or a sky blue,

Parts of the interior are gettin retrimmed ill get pics up of the progress

ive seen a few burgundy red in town, i think they look really really good. (not the pre-facelift berdoux (sp) red) the facelifted burgendy red, im talking about.

Audi "battleship grey" I think is what the name. A non metallic grey with a very nice deep clear over it. Guy in my building has it on a TT and it is a very interesting color. Actually stands out for grey...

That would be one of my choices, otherwise I'd just go with the factory silver and have it done flawless.

It all depends on the kind of material you use. You can get away with cheap base coat but high quallity clear coat that will bring the shine up. Also the painter plays the most important part of custom paint.

something with a lot of depth, not big sparkle, but smooth metallic that accents the body lines and makes the car look better. the new jaguar xk has a burgundy red that i really like, and they've always had a metallic British racing green thats awesome too. not too sure about the audi grey though, it is a cool, unique color, very "audi" though, if you know what i mean.

off white or as honda/acura calls it championship white, it's on the type R's or gun metal black like on the SLK 55

hmm not a massive fan of white, i want something that stands out, is different, and people go hey that colour doesnt come on mercs.

here's some good colors, in my opinion, jaguar/land rover have some of the nicest most interesting colors out there.

Colours that stand out tend to go in and out of fashion frequently...please not the lime haha
Those burgendys are nice tho!
I saw that exact sky blue toyota at the lights today,i dont think it would suit the merc..but thats just me

If i had a chance to repaint i would have to be boring and go...

Well ive decided on the toyota blue.

Its going in on the 15th of this month, the doors handles are getting shaved, the rear boot badge is getting taken off and welded up. and the car is getting sprayed!
