my steering wheel s deteriorating in m y hands. when ever i drive the steering wheel is literally disintegrating in my hand. i have residue from the wheel. the wheel is also cracking. is there any way to repair this without getting the car reupholstered or a cover? the only type of cover i would like is a part wood part leather. like in the new ML's or S classes( optional staring wheel. cant seem to find a kit or cover for that, just a ebay one, but it looks cheapo. my wheel is the dark brown.
i was thinking just to replace it with a junk car wheel, but it can be as bad or find a wheel with the wood and everything from a new car and pray to god it would fit and the airbag wiring can be rewired. i dont have much money for any of this and it is really uncomfortable and annoying. wish MB used better materials for something that would be used the most often, like the old school wheels that were black in every car....kinda like from the 1980's. till this day they are in better condition than mine and they have over 200k miles.

buy a new steering wheel without air-bag. you could use your stock one.

i've seen them online at around 400usd.

Approx $400 with shipping.

In ebay, type in the search "mercedes steering wheel W202"

Before purchasing, make sure to message the seller if it fits your specific year of 202, as I almost bought one and then found out it was for 94-97 yrs and I have 99.
