just giving some advice for those of you you wanted white-faced gauges without buying the entire sport cluster. i just installed these in my car and it is well worth the $25. they are very easy to install for anyone who has taken their cluster out before!

lamf - the engine is still original. the tranny was replaced at 250,000 miles.

logic - no pics yet. i will get some tomorrow. at night the needles have a very slight shadow from the overlay, but it doesn't look bad at all. remove cluster and lens then spray soapy water on the pieces and line-up/place on cluster (needle removal is not nessecary). then squeege out the water and re-install.

white-faced gauge overlay with the chrome snap-in rings. it does take a while to get out all the air bubbles when installing the gauges but IMO it is worth $25.

Looks sweet,
Want to give a step by step after you pulled the cluster

instructions come with the gauges but here is a quick detail once the instrument cluster is removed from the vehicle........

1. remove cluster lens cover
2. clean any dirt off original gauges with glass cleaner and a rag
3. mix water and dishwash soap in a spray bottle
4. peel off new gauges and spray the back of them
5. place over existing gauges
6. plug in instrument cluster to vehicle and adjust the new white gauges so the light lines up and shines through
7. unplug cluster and then use a credit card and squeege out all the water removing all the air pockets/bubbles (this can take about 5-10 minutes)
8. plug back in to make sure the gauges didn't move after removing water. if everything still lines up, place the lens cover back onto the cluster and re-install into car.

So you could unplug the cluster without removing the steering wheel

Sorry, I've only gone so far as replacing bulbs

yes there is a trick to that.....

1. pull out the cluster towards you
2. turn the key on and slightly turn the steering wheel to the right
3. turn key back off and then unplug the connectors reaching from behind
4. slide out the cluster to the right

What's going on with your center console, looks like you cut the wood back and did some sort of mod there? Link to a thread if you already covered this, I'd like to see what you did.

They're the purge and N2O switches

I've had N2O for about a year now, the worst thing I did was get drunk and replace the jets, thinking I would get more power with bigger jets, well all I got was a big explosion. Best to keep it at what the manufacturer recommends and you'll be safe. As for increases in power, wow or WOW. Make sure you have a free flowing intake and exhaust IMHO
Without the juice from a standing start I can barely chirp the tires, with the N2O on, the tires smoke for about 25 feet. In February my MB Club is having track week and I'll be going, I'll be making 1/4 mile runs with and without the juice also some track runs of course without the N2O. I'll let you know how things work.

How many bulbs are in the console for the general lighting? I know you can use T5 (2721) LED's but how many does it take. What color did you use with the white dials?
