Well I had my dyno run.. did 4 pulls.. 3 of which were good.
Im a lil bit disappointed to be honest.. but I guess its still pretty decent.
It was on a DynoJet dyno.
I have 2 print out's.. one of the good run.. and the other printout has all 3 runs on the sheet.
lets let the sheet speak for itself!!
And I completely forgot to bring a camera to take video.. next time I will. next dyno run is when the header is in.
Anyways.. here are the runs:
This has all 3 runs on it:

This one is the best run out of them all:

Considering I've seen C43 dyno runs in the 240 range, I think your results are pretty decent.

You could always sell me your exhaust if you're disappointed :D

is that a hub or rolling road dyno?
all dynos read so rediculusly different in my oppinion all dynos are good for is actually tuning cars,
take a vid next time, i love watching cars on dynos anyway

some C43s on dyno dynamics are in the 240s- I think it's fair to be disappointed with the numbers there...

that said, the raw numbers aren't really what matters either. AND of course all comparisons are a bit skewed.

how does it feel to drive? are you happy?

Awsome man, regardless of what the numbers are you have somthing to compare to later! =)

Whats the stock hp on the american 230k,is it 173?...or were they the same as the euro 193? 0o

if i recall the american stock HP is 185

hey slam, what did you think the car was running with all your mods????

Those figures are for raw hp at the wheel, not a computed number, right?

Do you think the 18" wheels cut down on the torque results a bit compared to stock?

Should be the wheel.

If the crank is 185hp, and lets say you have 15% drivetrain loss, then you are looking at ~157.25hp at the wheels.

So I still say 187hp and some change at the wheels is still very good, considering the modifications.

well i dyno my 99c280 it had 165hp and 154tq at the wheeles, at the crank it's supposed to be 197hp 188tq

How can you run your car with such a "LEAN" condition? That engine isn't going to last. Your air fuel ratio is at 14.84:1 all the way across. Your engine is starving of fuel. I have the Upsolute chip on my 99 slk 230 with kleemann pulley kit and it still run super lean like your. I fixed my problem by going back to stock on the ECU and used the 4 bars fuel pressure regulator and my air fuel ration drop down to 13.0:1.

It was a rolling dyno.. I cant remember if there was just 1 drum.. or 2 drums.
arent all DynoJet dyno's the same?

as for what I was expecting for HP at the wheels.. I was looking for about 200hp and anything over 200ft lbs of torque. so im a lil disappointed.
The stock HP and Torque was 185hp and 200ft lbs I believe.. so with all the mods I have done up till now.. I have gained 2hp and kept my torque the same.. but at the wheels!
lol.. OC, if.. IF I ever want to get rid of my exhaust..ill let you know!
stock numbers for my car I have no clue.. I never did a base run before I started modding, but the gains are pretty significant I would think.
yes indeed.. the numbers are for raw HP at the wheels.. no computed numbers here.

I think it drives decent.. Im not happy with it cause I want it faster!.. but no matter what I do Ill always want it faster. Im seriously contemplating converting it to a Turbo set up.. but probably not for a year or so though.. get my header in and se if that gives me any more.. maybe that will keep me happy for a year and then consider the Turbo after then. I know the only real way I will get the kind of power I want.. im gonna have to put me a turbo in. the supercharge ris nice.. but Id have to swap it with another unit that can put out more boost. the Eaton in my car is tapped out for that. Im trying ot look into another stock mercedes charger. off of the newer generation M111. but even then I dont think I will see great improvements.
I can tell you im not running lean!! they never took a reading when they did the dyno for air/fuel.. I never asked them to. so im guessing that line on the graphs is just there.. Im 100% sure they never had a probe in my tail pipe.
my dark sooted tips will tell you im running rich!

If those figures are truly at the wheels, then you still should not be too disappointed.

Factory claims are at the crank, so 185 or whatever is definitely less than that at the wheels. Typical is around 15% drivetrain loss.

Too bad you did not do a before dyno as that would give you a better indication of your gains.

So in theory your car from the factory should be around 157 at the wheels. Therefore, 187 to the wheels after mods are a good gain.

Though we will not truly know the numbers as you do not have a before dyno.

I agree if those readings are at the WHEELS then its darn good for a C230k with mods.

Ive been in Slammed C's 202 and its indeed fast....I didnt feel much difference in acceleration (riding) in it compared to my friend's C43, besides the difference in engine sound and suspension of course. Numbers are of course a different thing.

ok those for you that have this chip is it a easy install and if it is does this chip replace one inside the ecu or do you have this shipped out and they do the work? or is it like the banks style where is get put in line ?
